Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care on a med/surg pediatric unit
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate excellent patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
- Advocate for patient safety, quality, and comfort at every step
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; Missouri licensure or compact nurse licensure preferred
- Experience or strong interest in med/surg and pediatric nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles with pediatric focus
- Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients safely
- Comfort working as part of an interdisciplinary care team
