Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based med/surg nursing care for pediatric patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and create timely care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for effects
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate family-centered care
• Document patient status and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state (or compact licensure eligibility)
• Experience or comfort working in med/surg and pediatric settings (skills welcome even if developing)
• Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Able to pass facility credentialing and background checks
• Orientation completed at the start of assignment (orientation provided)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital sign interpretation, and documentation
• Experience with electronic health record charting and clinical workflows
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
