Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Operate and manage advanced monitoring and life-support equipment safely
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatments, and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact licensure as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required by facility
• Critical care/ICU experience preferred (clinical orientation may be provided)
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and collaborate in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in advanced patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfortable with ventilator management and titration of vasoactive drips
• Proficient with electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and coordinate care under pressure
• Strong teamwork, bedside manner, and family communication skills
