Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver age-specific, direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the Nursing Process
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care to promote positive patient outcomes
• Assume leadership responsibilities and delegate tasks appropriately to the care team
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies
• Maintain required certifications and ensure documentation is accurate and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during high-stress encounters

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential appropriate for the assignment
• Experience working in an Emergency Department (ED) or similar fast-paced acute care setting
• Active ACLS and BLS prior to contract start date
• Active PALS or ENPC prior to contract start date (PALS or ENPC accepted)
• Demonstrated leadership and delegation skills
• Comfort with age-specific patient care across the lifespan and regulatory compliance

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and application of the Nursing Process
• Emergency Department clinical skills and acute patient assessment
• ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC clinical knowledge
• Leadership, delegation and team coordination
• Understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations and standards
• Strong communication, critical thinking and documentation skills
