Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients presenting to the ED, acting quickly and confidently
• Assess, triage, and stabilize acute and critical patients while prioritizing patient safety
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses with precision
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate timely care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Contribute to quality improvement, safety initiatives, and a culture of continuous learning

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) qualification; ability to practice in Hawaii or obtain state authorization
• Experience in Emergency Department or Emergency Room settings preferred
• Current BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred or required by many EDs
• Strong clinical judgment, multitasking ability, and comfort with high-acuity care
• Exceptional communication skills and a team-first mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid triage and acute care assessment skills for emergency presentations
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and common ED procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain composed in fast-paced environments
• Collaborative skills to work effectively with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff
