Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients rapidly and accurately
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage critical interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly in the EHR
• Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and professional growth

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain/hold Hawaii RN license required)
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience or interest in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing
• Comfort working 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Active, collaborative communication style and strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to pass background check and any required pre-employment screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and rapid assessment abilities
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and code responses
• Clinical decision-making under pressure and excellent prioritization
• Effective teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
• Basic proficiency with electronic health records and documentation best practices
