Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid and accurate triage to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior ED/ER experience preferred; strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-based setting
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage
• IV therapy, medication administration, and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and accurate charting
• Rapid decision-making under pressure and strong prioritization skills
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and support a positive unit culture
