Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Rapidly triage, assess and prioritize patients based on urgency and clinical need
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement timely treatment plans
• Perform and interpret bedside assessments, initiate interventions, and monitor patient responses
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the medical record
• Provide patient and family education in clear, empathetic terms
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii license required or eligible to obtain)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS preferred or required depending on unit
• Prior Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment and triage skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment techniques
• Trauma and acute care protocols
• Cardiac, respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring
• IV therapy, medication administration and wound management
• Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation best practices
