Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert C-arm and O-arm imaging coverage for surgical procedures in the Operating Room
• Perform high-quality intraoperative X-ray procedures to support surgical teams and optimize patient outcomes
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiology staff to maintain efficient, safe OR workflows
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment; ensure C-arm/O-arm functionality and adherence to safety protocols
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with imaging advances and best practices
• Respond to on-call requests and rotating weekend coverage as needed to support the program
• Document imaging procedures accurately in the charting system (Epic preferred) and communicate findings clearly

Qualifications

• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT registration (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• State radiology technologist license as applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Teaching hospital experience (required)
• Level I Trauma experience (required)
• Demonstrated proficiency operating C-arm and O-arm systems (HARD STOP: must have 3s or 4s for C-arm and O-arm)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary OR team
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and float to other units of equal acuity as required

Education

• Certification as Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT registration
• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (implied by RT/ARRT requirement)
• Current BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• X-ray procedures for surgical/OR settings and intraoperative radiography
• C-arm and O-arm operation and mobile/surgical imaging workflows
• Equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and radiation safety practices
• Familiarity with Epic charting system and common imaging vendors (GE, CT Airo, Medtronic, Stryker, Ziehm)
• Ability to function effectively in Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environments
• Strong situational awareness, patient care collaboration, and teamwork in high-acuity settings
