Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality radiation therapy treatments with precision and compassion
• Operate and maintain linear accelerator equipment safely and according to protocol
• Position and immobilize patients, verify treatment setups and document treatments accurately
• Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform quality assurance checks, follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with facility standards
• Educate patients and families about treatment processes and provide emotional support during care
• Complete required documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
• Participate in department meetings, in-services and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• License/Certificate Verification as required by the facility (state radiation therapy license or equivalent)
• Successful completion of required Prime testing: Core Competencies Exam, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening: drug screen, fit test, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Strong patient-focused communication skills and professional bedside manner
• Comfort working in a fast-paced oncology setting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, treatment planning basics and patient setup
• Familiarity with linear accelerator operation and routine QA procedures
• Understanding of radiation safety principles and infection control practices
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols consistently
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient education and team communication
