Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Variable days (per diem), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Monitor and accurately document vital signs, behaviors, and changes in condition
Follow individualized care plans and communicate observations to the nursing team
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Participate in shift handoffs and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to enhance resident outcomes

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Good communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with older adults
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of ADLs and basic geriatric care
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
Skill in documentation and clear communication with nursing staff
Compassion, patience, and strong observation skills
