Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition accurately
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through careful assistance and positioning
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team about resident needs
• Document care and observations in accordance with facility policies and regulations
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Contribute to a warm, respectful environment that enhances quality of life for older adults

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
• CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatric settings preferred
• Current TB test and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication, patience, and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility; physical stamina for the role

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, infection control
• Understanding of geriatric care needs and age-related conditions
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Effective verbal and interpersonal communication with residents and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and culturally sensitive care
