Roles & Responsibilities

Masterfully perform venipuncture and skin punctures on patients from newborns to geriatrics
Process vital specimens in microbiology, hematology, chemistry and more
Keep the lab running smoothly with data entry, filing and stocking supplies
Greet patients with warmth and handle phone communications like a pro
Assist in sample pickups and maintain spotless work areas
Load specimens on automated equipment following top protocols

Qualifications

Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) meeting California regulatory requirements
BLS certification
DCI/BVP
Strong phlebotomy technique for all ages
Excellent communication and telephone etiquette

Education

Meets California Codes for CPT I (Business and Professions Code 1246; California Code of Regulations 1034)

Knowledge & Skills

Phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and skin puncture
Laboratory terminology and test processing across departments
Computer data entry, filing and clerical duties
Specimen handling for reference labs and automated instrumentation
