Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate fluoroscopy and cath lab imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
• Assist the interventional team during cardiac and vascular procedures with sterile technique and instrumentation
• Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning, monitoring, and safety checks
• Maintain radiation safety protocols and ensure proper dosimetry and shielding
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and techs to anticipate needs and streamline procedures
• Document procedural details, patient status, and imaging records accurately and promptly
• Perform equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate repair/service when needed
• Participate in competency exams and ongoing education to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Valid Fluoroscopy license as required by state regulation
• AART / ARRT certification (or active registry)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Demonstrated experience in Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology procedures
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Ability to pass employer-required health screenings and testing (drug screen, TB test, immunizations, fit test, color-blind test)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in high-acuity procedural settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• ARRT/AART certification preferred or required per facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fluoroscopic imaging and radiation safety principles
• Knowledge of cath lab and interventional radiology workflows and instrumentation
• Skilled in patient positioning, monitoring, and peri-procedural care
• Familiar with sterile technique, catheterization procedures, and contrast use
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with procedural documentation systems
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to anticipate clinician needs
