Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to pulmonary clinic patients following established standards and best practices
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and monitor responses
• Assist providers with examination and treatment procedures and ensure accurate documentation
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care in clear, compassionate language
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in their treatment plans
• Recognize and respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations
• Follow office procedures, basic ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines, and maintain accurate medical records
• Safely assist with patient transfers and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) while prioritizing patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification (renew every two years)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• One year of nursing experience preferred
• Ability to travel to other offices and work occasional irregular hours
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Able to perform physical demands of the role, including patient handling and lifting up to 50 lbs

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and compassionate hands-on patient care
• Medication administration and knowledge of medication effects
• Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures
• Basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
• Patient education techniques and clear verbal/written communication
• Ability to prioritize, analyze problems, and make confident, timely decisions
• Comfort using common clinic equipment for examination and treatment
