Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to burn, trauma, and surgical ICU patients
• Assess and monitor complex patients continuously, responding quickly to changes
• Perform advanced procedures and unit-critical tasks such as wound care, managing EVDs, and assisting with MTP
• Lead and coordinate patient care during codes and emergency situations
• Document care thoroughly in Meditech and communicate patient status clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Support and mentor peers when needed and contribute to a collaborative unit culture
• Adhere to unit policies and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience; experience in Trauma, Burn, or Surgical ICU is required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• CCRN preferred
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Comfort with critical care equipment and functioning in a 2:1 ICU patient ratio

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Wound care expertise, including burn-specific treatments
• Experience with codes, external ventricular drains (EVDs), and massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Team-based collaboration, prioritization, and clinical decision making
