Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for NVICU patients, ensuring safety and dignity
• Perform and manage critical care procedures including central line and arterial line care
• Support and assist with intubation and ventilator management as needed
• Care for patients with EVDs alongside core staff protocols
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Advocate for patients and families while maintaining unit policies and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with critical care procedures: central line, arterial line, intubation (listed in unit procedures)
• Comfort caring for patients with EVDs and other complex neuro/oncology needs (core staff involvement noted)
• Ability to float to all ICUs, BMT and PCU floors (floating areas listed)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Team-player attitude: accountable, caring and collaborative

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• Critical care procedures and ICU equipment familiarity
• Ventilator and airway management support
• Central line and arterial line care
• Intubation support and post-procedure monitoring
• Neuro and oncology patient care exposure (preferred)
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization and communication skills
