Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care for BMT and oncology ICU patients, managing complex needs with confidence
• Assess and monitor patients continuously, titrating vasoactive drips and adjusting therapies as needed
• Manage ventilator and Bipap patients, including ventilator setup, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes, turning and total care interventions for critically ill patients
• Operate and monitor CRRT and A-line equipment when indicated, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Accurately document patient care in Meditech EMR and communicate clear handoffs at shift change

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Texas license or compact status as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (BMT/oncology ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Comfortable and experienced with ventilator management, titrating drips, tracheostomy care and critical care equipment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and bedside devices (IV pumps, Flow‑track) is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Ventilator management and Bipap patient care
• Titrating vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring
• Tracheostomy care and total care for critically ill patients
• CRRT operation and dialysis-related monitoring
• A-line management, IV pumps and advanced bedside monitoring
• Meditech EMR documentation and electronic charting proficiency
• Strong teamwork, communication, and rapport with physicians
