Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients promptly and accurately to prioritize care
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the ED team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Perform focused exams, document findings, and update the care plan in a timely way
• Stabilize critical patients and facilitate rapid transfers when higher-level care is needed
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during stressful moments
• Maintain situational awareness in the fast-paced ER environment and contribute to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in California
• Minimum ER clinical experience preferred (per-diem roles welcome even if shifting back into ED work)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing acute, undifferentiated presentations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to perform under pressure
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in emergency nursing workflows and triage principles
• Skill with IV starts, medication administration, and common ED procedures
• Knowledge of ACLS algorithms and critical care stabilization techniques
• Comfort using electronic medical records for documentation and orders
• Ability to prioritize rapidly and multitask in a dynamic, unpredictable environment
• Compassionate patient interaction and clear communication with families and clinicians
