Location: Silver Spring, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Variable days (per diem), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Observe and report changes in condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and colleagues
Engage residents with empathy and activities that enhance quality of life

Qualifications

Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or equivalent
Comfort working with older adults and a caring bedside manner
Able to pass required background check and health screenings

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
GNA certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
Basic infection control and safety practices
Ability to follow care plans and accurately document observations
Safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
