Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and start/maintain IVs safely and competently to support urgent care workflows
• Obtain 12-lead ECGs and monitor cardiac status when indicated
• Deliver wound care, wound vac management, and assist with orthopedics/cast care to promote healing
• Administer medications (IM, SQ, oral) within scope and document appropriately
• Triage patients over the phone and in person, prioritizing urgency and coordinating care
• Accurately document patient encounters in Epic/CS Link to ensure continuity and quality
• Monitor vital signs, blood glucose testing, and respond to emergency situations with cardiac monitoring and basic life support
• Provide patient education on discharge, wound care, mobility (crutch walking), and follow-up instructions

Qualifications

• Current California LVN license (required)
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC (required)
• Flu vaccination required, no exemptions accepted
• Phlebotomy and IV certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Urgent Care or ER experience (required)
• Experience with Epic and/or CS Link charting systems (required)
• Preferred: 3+ years clinical experience in IM, UC, or ER
• First-time travel/contract clinicians are welcome
• Orientation expected (approximately 120 hours) and ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• No pending license accepted; local clinicians within a 50-minute commute are eligible

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program
• Current California LVN license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient use of Epic and CS Link for charting and care coordination
• Phlebotomy, IV therapy, and medication administration skills (IM/SQ/Oral)
• 12-lead ECG acquisition and basic cardiac monitoring
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Foley catheter insertion (male/female) and genitourinary specimen instructions
• Vital sign monitoring, blood glucose testing, and respiratory support (nasal cannula/oxygen)
• Isolation precautions, PPE use, and infection control practices
• Telephone triage, vaccine administration, and medication reconciliation
