Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3x12 (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Schedule assignments are rotated/reviewed every 4-week scheduling period and may include days, nights, or a combination; weekends are variable based on unit needs.

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care to adults undergoing bone marrow transplant and oncology treatment — your assessments matter.
- Safely administer blood products, IV infusions and oncology-related therapies with attention to protocols.
- Perform and manage central line, PICC and port care — including central line blood draws and access.
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to identify changes early and intervene.
- Respond quickly and effectively as a member of Rapid Response Teams when patients need urgent escalation.
- Follow strict infection prevention and isolation protocols to protect immunocompromised patients.
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to support continuity of care and clinical decision-making.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, chemo safety and post-transplant care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Pharmacy, PT, RT, Social Work, Radiology) to coordinate safe discharges and complex care plans.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, safety huddles and unit-based learning to improve outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Ohio (or compact RN able to practice in Ohio) — required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; must have MS and oncology experience on checklist with at least 1 year of hematology/oncology experience in the most recent 3 years (and 1 year CURRENT specialty experience for clinical pass)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certified credentials preferred but not required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and use of GE/B450 telemetry systems
- Willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units and participate in unit needs
- Completion of the 72-hour orientation prior to independent practice on the unit
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care for adult and geriatric patients
- Bone Marrow Transplant processes (autologous, syngeneic, allogeneic) and CAR-T therapy familiarity
- IV therapy, Alaris pump use, infusion safety and peripheral/central line management
- Administration and monitoring of blood products and port care
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Feeding tube care and basic enteral management
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions and PPE best practices
- Recognition and management of oncologic emergencies and sepsis
- Strong Epic documentation skills and multidisciplinary communication
