Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-focused nursing care consistent with LPN scope of practice
• Administer medications and document medication administration accurately
• Monitor and record vital signs, patient status, and changes in condition
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic clinical procedures
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Support admissions, discharges, and safe patient transfers
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families about care plans
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and comply with facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable with medication administration, documentation, and basic procedures
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Previous LPN experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required for per diem roles

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals and medication administration
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Competence in vital sign assessment, basic wound care, and ADL support
• Comfort using electronic medical records and completing accurate documentation
• Good clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient and team communication
