Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality med/surg nursing care for adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient status closely and act promptly on changes in condition
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, CNAs and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Support unit flow by managing admissions, discharges and transfers smoothly
• Serve as a dependable team player who can float to surgical and ER hold areas when needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (Registered Nurse) - required
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg nursing experience in an acute care setting (explicit requirement)
• Previous Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends
• Willingness to float to surgical unit and ER to provide med/surg hold nurse capabilities
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to ask questions when unsure of processes

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med/surg and acute care clinical knowledge
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to manage typical med/surg patient ratios (approx. 1:5-6 day, 1:6 nights)
• Experience with admissions, care planning, medication administration and documentation
• Strong prioritization and time management in a fast-paced hospital unit
• Adaptability to float between units and handle a variety of patient needs
