Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per-diem (as-needed), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents throughout your shift
Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
Support safe transfers and ambulation while following proper body mechanics
Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and multidisciplinary staff
Follow infection control standards and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Ability to pass background checks, health screenings, and required immunizations
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude
Physical ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic personal care
Basic clinical observation skills and accurate documentation
Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
Good teamwork and communication with nursing staff and families
Time management skills to prioritize resident needs during a shift
Respect for resident dignity, confidentiality, and cultural preferences
