Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful bedside care to geriatric residents
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfer techniques to prevent falls and injuries
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate with interdisciplinary staff
- Help create a calm, dignified environment that honors resident preferences and routines
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
- Previous experience caring for geriatric or long-term care residents is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant skills: vital signs, ADLs, toileting and feeding assistance
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety best practices
- Familiarity with resident charting and basic electronic documentation
- Safe lift/transfer techniques and mobility support
- Teamwork, dependable attendance, and strong observational skills
