Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem nights (schedule varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
Monitor and document resident condition and behavior accurately in charts and care plans
Communicate changes in resident status promptly to the nursing team and families
Support a safe, clean environment and participate in infection control practices
Respond quickly and professionally to call bells and urgent resident needs

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent required
CPR/BLS certification required or obtained shortly after hire (per facility policy)
Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar geriatric setting preferred
Ability to work night shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a resident-centered approach

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Basic charting and documentation skills
Good communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary care team
Observation skills to notice and report changes in resident health or behavior
