Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (specific start/end times vary by schedule). Typical cadence: 12-hour shifts with ~36 hours/week after orientation; includes scheduled 12-hour on-call at least once per month. No guaranteed hours or shift preference.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring mothers throughout labor and delivery
- Assist with safe deliveries and perform immediate newborn assessments and care
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using GE/Centricity fetal monitoring systems
- Deliver postpartum care to mothers and provide newborn care in the nursery
- Accurately document care and communicate clearly using Meditech
- Collaborate closely with physicians, neonatal staff, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate and support families through labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period
- Participate in unit-based safety practices and contribute to a positive team culture
Qualifications
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment (travelers not currently licensed in HI must apply upon acceptance)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- STABLE and Advanced Fetal Monitoring recommended/preferred
- Experience with Meditech and GE/Centricity fetal monitoring systems preferred
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in labor and delivery nursing, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Proficient with fetal monitoring interpretation (GE/Centricity)
- Comfortable using Meditech for documentation and charting
- Neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn stabilization skills
- Ability to work effectively on rotating shifts and adapt to variable schedules
- Team-focused mindset with patient- and family-centered communication
