Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Implement and evaluate total nursing care for med-surg patients across the lifespan
• Provide leadership on the unit by coordinating with ancillary staff and the care team
• Maintain professional nursing standards in clinical practice and documentation
• Prioritize patient safety and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
• Contribute to systems and workflows that ensure timely, high-quality care for infants through geriatrics

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate jurisdiction
• Minimum 6 months of recent MedSurg nursing experience (required)
• Demonstrated ability to work nights and manage a 1:5 patient ratio
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking and leadership skills in a clinical setting

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and nursing diagnosis expertise
• Creating and implementing patient care plans with attention to detail
• Clinical nursing practice in med-surg settings
• Leadership and teamwork with ancillary and interdisciplinary staff
• Care across the lifespan: infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics
