Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care for high-acuity surgical and trauma patients including spinal, neuro, and trauma populations
• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding quickly to changes in condition
• Implement and manage patient care plans for surgical, spinal, neuro, gunshot, and paraplegic/quadriplegic patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during trauma activations and surgical care to optimize outcomes
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to maintain continuity of care and compliance
• Maintain certification and competency by completing required skills checklists and training
• Support safe patient handling and mobility plans for spinal injury and neuro-rehab patients
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clarity during high-stress situations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must complete Nursys license verification)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in trauma, surgical, or high-acuity specialty
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Current certifications and ability to provide certification cards and references during onboarding
• Resume/work history with no gaps greater than 60 days
• Ability to upload complete demographic profile and badge-appropriate photo for facility requirements
• Comfort working a fast-paced trauma/surgical floor and flexibility to work assigned shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• High-acuity nursing and trauma assessment skills
• Surgical postoperative care and familiarity with spinal/neuro patient needs
• Proficiency using EPIC for documentation and orders
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making during emergencies
• Clear communication and teamwork during trauma activations
• Experience with skills checklists, certification verification, and thorough charting
