Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day)
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function to create individualized care plans
- Design and deliver evidence-based therapy programs that help patients meet meaningful goals
- Document progress clearly and timely in the electronic health record to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses, occupational and physical therapists, physicians and families to coordinate holistic care
- Provide family and caregiver education to promote carryover and functional outcomes
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain professional licensure, mandatory training and compliance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) — Maryland license or ability to obtain state licensure
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) and ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Experience in adult rehab/acute care settings preferred; strong assessment and treatment skills
- Current CPR/BLS certification (facility requirement may apply)
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in dysphagia assessment and treatment, cognitive-communication and voice/fluency interventions
- Knowledge of standardized assessment tools and goal writing best practices
- Proficient with electronic health records and timely clinical documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary care teams
- Comfortable providing patient/caregiver education and training
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches a plus
