Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform radiation oncology procedures as prescribed by the radiation oncologist with care and precision
- Accurately record and document patient treatments in a complete and timely manner
- Provide compassionate clinical patient care and clear communication with patients and families
- Operate ancillary equipment and assist with film processing and darkroom tasks when needed
- Answer phones professionally and direct calls to the appropriate team members
- Assist with safe patient transportation to and from the department
- Restock supplies and notify the appropriate team member when orders are required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment to support patient safety and team efficiency
Qualifications
- Current ARRT (Radiation Therapist) certification or equivalent licensure required
- State licensure for Nebraska or ability to obtain Nebraska licensure promptly
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Experience with radiation oncology procedures and patient treatment documentation
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Education
- Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of an accredited radiation therapy program
- Completion of an accredited clinical training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of radiation oncology treatment workflows and safety protocols
- Comfortable with treatment recording and clinical documentation best practices
- Skilled at patient communication, education, and providing calming bedside care
- Familiarity with film processing and basic darkroom/ancillary duties
- Organizational skills for supply management and maintaining a safe work environment
