Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care during scheduled shifts
- Perform routine assessments and document patient status accurately
- Administer medications and treatments according to facility policy
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility needs
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and families
- Monitor and report changes in condition to supervising nursing staff
- Support safe transitions of care and help maintain a therapeutic environment
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license — LPN preferred for this specific posting
- Active or eligible for Massachusetts licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to work per diem shifts and adapt to variable schedules
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program (for LPN) or accredited nursing program (for RN)
- For RNs: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is acceptable
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in resident assessment, vital signs, and care planning
- Wound care basics and infection prevention principles
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Efficient charting and time management during busy shifts
- Collaborative teamwork with nurses, therapists, and support staff
