Shift Type: Night shift (overnight), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; rotating schedule with nights and weekends (in a 6-week schedule you will work 3 weekends)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to PICU patients, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support to stabilize critically ill children
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes in patient status quickly and confidently
- Carry out procedures such as IV starts, central line dressing changes, trach care, tube feeding/placement and ICP monitoring
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, techs and families — to coordinate care plans
- Educate families and caregivers on care needs, equipment and discharge planning
- Maintain clinical competencies and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- PALS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of PICU experience (per unit requirements)
- Demonstrated competency with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with Cerner documentation and using Alaris pumps
- Comfort floating to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong pediatric critical care knowledge (PICU practices and patient ratios 1:1–1:2)
- Ventilator management and respiratory care skills
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Skilled with IV starts, central line care, tracheostomy care and tube feedings
- Familiarity with ICP monitoring and managing neurologically complex patients
- Proficient in Cerner electronic documentation and using Alaris infusion pumps
- Teamwork, clear communication with families and crisis management
