Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform PET, SPECT and other nuclear medicine procedures with accuracy and compassion
- Operate and maintain GE and Philips imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Prepare, handle and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals safely and in accordance with regulations
- Start and maintain IVs and draw venous blood for imaging procedures
- Provide patient-centered care across the lifespan — from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Collaborate with radiology, respiratory services and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Document procedures and patient information in the electronic charting system (Epic preferred)
- Adhere to safety, infection control and facility vaccine guidelines while modeling professionalism
Qualifications
- Valid CA NMT License (required)
- Graduated from an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program (required)
- AHA BLS (required)
- Minimum 3 years experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Preferred: ARRT (CT) and/or NMTCB (CT)
- Preferred: ACLS and Epic charting experience
- Comfortable working with pediatric and adult patient populations
- Demonstrated knowledge of radioactive materials handling and safety protocols
Education
- Graduated from an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program
Knowledge & Skills
- PET Scan, SPECT (Single-Photon Emission CT), Bone Scan and MUGA procedures
- HIDA, Gastric Emptying, Renal Flow/Perfusion and Ventilation/Perfusion imaging
- DTPA aerosol administration and tumor localization techniques
- Experience with GE and Philips imaging equipment
- IV insertion, venous blood drawing and starting/maintaining IVs
- Safe handling, storage and disposal of radioactive materials
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic charting systems
- Ability to work in both teaching and community hospital settings
