Shift Type: Rotating shifts, assigned schedule that includes days, nights and weekends (must be willing to work assigned shifts; no block schedules)

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, high-acuity nursing care for trauma, surgical, neuro/spinal and spinal cord injury patients
- Perform thorough, safe patient handoffs with ED and admitting units to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with support techs, phlebotomists and unit staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC for clinical and legal continuity
- Manage patient assignments safely within the unit model (patient ratio noted as 5:1)
- Respond effectively to acute changes in patient condition and escalate as needed
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and support recovery goals for complex patients
Qualifications
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- EPIC experience required
- Minimum 2 years experience in trauma, surgical or high-acuity specialty care (neuro/spinal experience strongly preferred)
- Comfort working with high-acuity populations including gun shot trauma, quadriplegia and paraplegia cases
- Proven ability to perform effective patient handoffs and communicate with ED/admitting teams
Knowledge & Skills
- High-acuity and trauma nursing best practices
- Surgical and neuro/spinal patient management
- Effective patient handoff processes and interdisciplinary communication
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation workflows
- Ability to work within a 5:1 patient ratio and coordinate with unit support staff
- Experience collaborating with phlebotomists and unit secretaries for smooth operations
