Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients quickly and accurately on arrival to the emergency department
• Triage patients to determine severity and prioritize care
• Provide immediate stabilization and life-saving interventions when needed
• Administer and monitor treatments and medications in accordance with protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and next steps
• Participate in ongoing skills maintenance and required certifications to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Oklahoma State License (OK) or compact license accepted where applicable
• Current BLS (AHA) required
• Current ACLS (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS (AHA) required
• TNCC preferred
• At least 2 years of ER nursing experience (required)
• Recent travel nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) relevant to emergency nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and rapid clinical decision-making
• Triage and prioritization in high-acuity settings
• Acute stabilization and life support skills
• Proficiency in ER nursing practices and emergency protocols
• NIHSS stroke assessment
• Trauma and emergency nursing concepts (TNCC familiarity)
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Adaptability to travel assignments and varying clinical environments
