Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled labor and delivery care including one-to-one support during active labor
• Manage postpartum care with a typical ratio of 1:3, ensuring safe recovery and education for new families
• Conduct fetal monitoring and recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Deliver neonatal care for low-risk perinatal and level 1 nursery patients
• Accurately document patient care in Epic and maintain timely charting
• Triage patients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy and social services
• Float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs and support system-wide coverage
• Follow AWHONN staffing standards and facility protocols to ensure high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• NRP certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years LDRP or Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Competency in fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Reliable vehicle required for travel and floating between facilities
• Ability to work every-other-weekend and float to nearby facilities as needed

• Labor and Delivery nursing best practices and one-to-one active labor support
• Postpartum and neonatal care for low-risk perinatal patients
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and interventions
• Triage skills and rapid assessment
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing standards and hospital safety protocols
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
