Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct and guide nursing staff on policy interpretation and clinical workflow to ensure safe, efficient care
- Manage patient flow across the hospital, coordinating with charge nurses and support teams to optimize throughput
- Assign nursing resources and organize staff schedules to meet patient care needs
- Coach and provide constructive feedback to staff, monitoring productivity and promoting professional growth
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and the Chief Nursing Officer on administrative decisions and quality initiatives
- Respond to and resolve patient and family concerns with empathy and clear communication
- Oversee clinical practices for high-acuity patients, including ventilator support and invasive line management
- Lead improvements and special projects that enhance patient care and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required)
- Minimum 3 years' RN experience in a hospital setting with recent ICU or similar high-acuity experience
- Current CPR certification (required)
- ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Demonstrated experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tube management, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience in patient flow, resource nursing, and nurse leadership
- Comfort using basic office equipment and multiple IV pumps; ability to operate advanced medical equipment
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong leadership and people skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levels
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
- Clinical supervision and staff assignment expertise
- Patient flow management and resource allocation
- Proficiency in care across the lifespan, from infants to geriatrics
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and post-operative care
- Problem solving and project development experience
