Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with cardiac catheterization procedures, PCI, electrophysiology studies, and device implants
• Provide expert patient assessment, monitoring, and hemodynamic support before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and cath lab equipment to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Collaborate with the cardiac team—physicians, techs, and ancillary staff—to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to code/urgent events in the lab with calm, skilled intervention
• Document clinical care, procedures, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys license verification
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in cath lab nursing with competency in cardiac catheterization, PCI, EP, and cardiac devices
• Comfort with structural cardiology procedures is a plus
• Able to complete required screenings: fit test, drug screening, vaccinations (MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella), TB testing, and physical/health statement
• Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, and interventional cardiology procedures
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Skilled in sterile technique and procedural instrumentation for cath lab and device cases
• Ability to triage and prioritize in fast-paced procedural environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork with physicians, techs, and support staff
• Familiarity with post-procedure recovery and patient education for cardiac interventions
