Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day shifts, 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM (four 10-hour day shifts per week) with required on-call coverage: 1 day per week plus 4th/5th weekend on-call (Friday 06:00 PM - Monday 07:30 AM). Approximately one Saturday per month is part of the scheduled 4 shifts/week. Day shift with rotating on-call weekend coverage.

Candidate Pay Rate: $83 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac catheterization lab
- Perform and assist with cardiac cath lab procedures (left/right heart cath, PCI, stent placement, Impella insertion and IABP management)
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage ventilators when required
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy, blood product administration, and infusion pumps
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and respond to emergency cardiac events
- Perform sheath removal, apply topical hemostasis, and manage post-procedure vascular care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with EP and IR teams when floating to those services to meet facility needs
- Participate in on-call coverage and respond to weekend coverage requirements as scheduled
- Support infection prevention practices and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- AK RN license in hand required for auto offer (pending license accepted but license must be in-hand for final offer)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (Cath Lab/Interventional experience preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proven experience with Epic charting required
- Comfortable with procedural sedation monitoring, ventilator management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Willingness to float within scope to EP or IR when needed
- Able to meet on-call requirements including 4th/5th weekend rotation and occasional scheduled Saturdays
- Locals not accepted — permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization and interventional catheterization procedures
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), stent placement, angioplasty
- Impella insertion and IABP management
- Monitoring procedural sedation and end-tidal CO2
- IV therapy, blood product administration, and infusion pump management
- Sheath removal and topical hemostasis techniques (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and emergency medications
- Activated Clotting Time (ACT) monitoring and use of external compression devices
- Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures and hybrid OR environments
- Epic electronic charting and strong documentation practices
