Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care as an LPN in the per diem pool
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders
- Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including respirator/fit-test procedures
- Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and unit-specific training
- Support patient and family education with clear, respectful communication
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing (license verification required)
- Current BLS certification required
- Completion of Trinity specialty-specific competency testing prior to assignment
- Must complete required occupational health screenings (fit test, drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, respirator evaluation, color vision, physical/health statement)
- Strong clinical judgment, reliable attendance, and ability to adapt to different units as needed
- Professional attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Familiarity with patient assessment and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of infection control standards and PPE use (including respirator use)
- Good communication and patient education skills
- Ability to follow protocols and complete competency testing accurately
- Comfort working in fast-paced, variable assignment environments
