Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality outpatient endocrine care for adult patients, focusing on diabetes, thyroid disorders, and osteoporosis
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans that improve patient outcomes
• Utilize ultrasound capability in-clinic for efficient, point-of-care assessments when appropriate
• Collaborate closely with the care team — including the on-site Certified Diabetes Educator when available — to support comprehensive care
• Document encounters and coordinate care using EPIC EMR to ensure continuity and quality
• Provide patient education and empower adults to manage chronic endocrine conditions effectively
• Participate in quality improvement and practice development efforts to advance outpatient services
• Serve as a clinical leader and mentor within the endocrinology team when opportunities arise

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology (required)
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Colorado medical license (or current Colorado license)
• Experience in outpatient adult endocrinology care with focus on diabetes, thyroid, and osteoporosis management
• Comfortable using EPIC EMR in daily practice
• Familiarity with or willingness to perform/interpret clinic-based ultrasound
• Enthusiasm for teamwork and patient-centered care in a busy outpatient clinic
• Must be interested in permanent placement — locum candidates will not be considered
• US work authorization required; cannot accept visa candidates

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree)
• Completion of Endocrinology fellowship
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Endocrinology

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in diabetes management and insulin therapy
• Thyroid disease diagnosis and management
• Osteoporosis assessment and treatment strategies
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
• Point-of-care ultrasound familiarity within endocrine practice
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including diabetes educators and advanced practice providers
• Commitment to evidence-based care and quality improvement
