Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI exams across neuro, body, breast, MSK, and cardiac systems to support accurate diagnoses
- Operate and optimize GE and Siemens MRI scanners and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
- Prepare and safely administer MRI contrast media while monitoring patient well-being
- Start peripheral IVs and follow strict infection-control and isolation precautions
- Document procedures, findings, and patient interactions clearly and efficiently in Epic
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, IV teams, and transport to keep patient flow efficient
- Participate in quality assurance, image post-processing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, learning-focused team environment
Qualifications
- ARRT (MR) required; ARMRIT accepted (ARRT (R)(MR) preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience in acute care or hospital settings
- Current BLS certification required
- Oregon MRI technologist licensure as required by state regulations
- Experience with Epic electronic charting and PACS workflows
- Comfortable performing advanced procedures including MRCP, MRA, MRV, perfusion, spectroscopy, CINE, and diffusion
- Able to start peripheral IVs and safely administer contrast media
- Willingness to work independently on night shifts and collaborate effectively on day teams
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
- Associate degree or equivalent clinical training preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong grasp of MRI fundamentals and advanced imaging protocols (T1, T2, spin echo, gradient echo)
- Hands-on experience with GE and Siemens MRI scanners
- Expertise in MRCP, MRA, MRV, CINE, perfusion, spectroscopy, and diffusion techniques
- Image post-processing skills including MIP, MRP, ADC mapping, and subtraction techniques
- Proficiency with Epic electronic charting and PACS workflows
- Excellent patient safety practices, isolation precautions, and infection control
- IV access and contrast administration skills with clear patient communication
- Quality assurance mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
