Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI exams across neuro, body, breast, MSK, and cardiac systems to support accurate diagnoses
• Operate and optimize GE and Siemens MRI scanners and ensure timely image transfer to PACS
• Prepare and safely administer MRI contrast media while monitoring patient well-being
• Start peripheral IVs and follow strict infection-control and isolation precautions
• Document procedures, findings, and patient interactions clearly and efficiently in Epic
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, IV teams, and transport to keep patient flow efficient
• Participate in quality assurance, image post-processing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, learning-focused team environment

Qualifications

• ARRT (MR) required; ARMRIT accepted (ARRT (R)(MR) preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience in acute care or hospital settings
• Current BLS certification required
• Oregon MRI technologist licensure as required by state regulations
• Experience with Epic electronic charting and PACS workflows
• Comfortable performing advanced procedures including MRCP, MRA, MRV, perfusion, spectroscopy, CINE, and diffusion
• Able to start peripheral IVs and safely administer contrast media
• Willingness to work independently on night shifts and collaborate effectively on day teams

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
• Associate degree or equivalent clinical training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong grasp of MRI fundamentals and advanced imaging protocols (T1, T2, spin echo, gradient echo)
• Hands-on experience with GE and Siemens MRI scanners
• Expertise in MRCP, MRA, MRV, CINE, perfusion, spectroscopy, and diffusion techniques
• Image post-processing skills including MIP, MRP, ADC mapping, and subtraction techniques
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting and PACS workflows
• Excellent patient safety practices, isolation precautions, and infection control
• IV access and contrast administration skills with clear patient communication
• Quality assurance mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
