Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and trays to keep surgeries on schedule and patients safe
• Operate, monitor, and perform routine safety checks on sterilization equipment, including autoclaves
• Maintain accurate instrument tracking and processing records for full traceability and compliance
• Store and distribute sterile instruments promptly to support efficient clinical operations
• Communicate proactively with OR and clinical staff to ensure seamless workflow
• Participate in shared call responsibilities to provide reliable team coverage when needed
• Follow infection-control and safety standards to protect patients and colleagues

Qualifications

• Sterile Processing Tech certification required (documentation ready)
• Current TB clearance required prior to start
• Ability to work a full 40-hour week and participate in a shared call rotation
• Reliable, punctual, team-oriented, with strong communication skills
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program preferred
• Familiarity with infection prevention practices and OSHA guidelines

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterilization methods and instrument decontamination
• Experience operating sterilizers (autoclaves) and monitoring sterilization cycles
• Instrument identification, tray assembly, and inspection expertise
• Basic recordkeeping, inventory control, and instrument tracking skills
• Understanding of infection prevention practices and OSHA guidelines
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with surgical and clinical staff
