Roles & Responsibilities
- Stabilize and support newborns at delivery to give every baby the best start
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care across acute, emergency, and ICU settings
- Perform pulmonary function assessments and design individualized rehab plans
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement patient-centered care plans
- Document interventions and patient responses clearly to support continuity of care
- Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Licensed in Colorado as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- BLS and ACLS required upon hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required upon hire
- PALS certification required within 60 days of hire
- NBRC registration or certification preferred
- Recent newborn delivery and stabilization experience required
- At least one year recent acute, emergency, or ICU experience preferred
Education
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in neonatal resuscitation and newborn delivery stabilization
- Strong knowledge of pulmonary function testing and pulmonary rehabilitation
- Hands-on experience with a variety of respiratory equipment and devices
- Ability to prioritize and perform effectively in fast-paced acute and critical care environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clinical teams
- Troubleshooting skills for respiratory devices and patient-related equipment issues
- Experience developing pulmonary rehabilitation programs and maintaining equipment
