Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to acutely ill and post-operative adult patients
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe and stable
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement personalized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings clearly, and escalate changes promptly
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and according to policy
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and self-care
• Participate in unit initiatives and safety practices to support continuous improvement
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy medical-surgical environment

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license (required)
• Healthcare Provider level BLS (required)
• AHA ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated telemetry monitoring experience (required)
• Orthopedic and bariatric experience (preferred)
• Specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing (encouraged)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and clear communication skills
• Comfort working with perioperative and post-surgical adult populations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Accurate documentation and safe medication administration
• Excellent prioritization, multitasking, and time management in high-acuity settings
• Effective patient and family education skills
• Teamwork and clear interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to perform thorough clinical assessments and escalate concerns appropriately
