Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to acutely ill and post-operative adult patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe and stable
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement personalized care plans
- Perform thorough assessments, document findings clearly, and escalate changes promptly
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and according to policy
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and self-care
- Participate in unit initiatives and safety practices to support continuous improvement
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy medical-surgical environment
Qualifications
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN license (required)
- Healthcare Provider level BLS (required)
- AHA ACLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated telemetry monitoring experience (required)
- Orthopedic and bariatric experience (preferred)
- Specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing (encouraged)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and clear communication skills
- Comfort working with perioperative and post-surgical adult populations
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Accurate documentation and safe medication administration
- Excellent prioritization, multitasking, and time management in high-acuity settings
- Effective patient and family education skills
- Teamwork and clear interdisciplinary communication
- Ability to perform thorough clinical assessments and escalate concerns appropriately
