Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based respiratory therapy and diagnostics to improve patient outcomes
- Rapidly assess cardiopulmonary status and initiate timely, lifesaving interventions
- Manage ventilators and respiratory equipment, ensuring safe operation and quick troubleshooting
- Respond to code events and urgent situations using ACLS, NRP, or PALS protocols
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and safe use of home equipment
- Document respiratory therapy procedures clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and optimize individualized patient care plans
Qualifications
- Current NBRC-RRT registration (required)
- Current Oregon Respiratory Care License (required)
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification (required)
- Current ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (required)
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent clinical training (required)
- Two years of clinical respiratory care experience preferred
- Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, and a patient-focused mindset
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in cardiopulmonary assessment and respiratory diagnostics
- Experienced in ventilator management and acute care respiratory interventions
- Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, from neonates through geriatrics
- Accurate clinical documentation and competent use of electronic medical records
- Effective critical thinking and rapid decision-making in acute care settings
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans
