Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate adult and pediatric patients for speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs using strong clinical judgment
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that drive measurable and meaningful progress
• Perform skilled dysphagia assessments and deliver safe, evidence-based interventions
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate patient-centered care
• Follow patients from evaluation through discharge to ensure continuity and impactful outcomes
• Coach and educate patients and caregivers to maximize carryover and real-world results
• Contribute to team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to elevate clinical practice and patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon Speech-Language Pathology license (required)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required or active participation in a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
• Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Comfortable traveling to multiple points of care within the service area
• Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, team-player attitude
• Experience with adult and pediatric populations is a plus

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or active CFY participation

Knowledge & Skills

• Speech-language pathology evaluation and individualized treatment planning
• Language, voice, and swallowing (dysphagia) assessment and intervention
• Cognitive-communication assessment and therapy approaches
• Skilled clinical documentation and familiarity with regulatory compliance
• Interdisciplinary healthcare team collaboration and caregiver education
• Clinical reasoning and outcome-focused measurement using evidence-based interventions
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
