Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient clinic flow so patients are seen promptly and respectfully
• Assist urology providers with exams, procedures, and treatments to deliver excellent care
• Document patient encounters accurately to keep medical records reliable and up to date
• Collect and prepare specimens following clinic protocols with attention to detail
• Administer medications safely, monitor patient responses, and escalate concerns when needed
• Triage phone calls, provide clear patient instructions, and escalate urgent issues appropriately
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to prioritize patients and ensure coordinated care
• Communicate compassionately with patients to support adherence and create positive experiences

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Iowa required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN); LPN considered in some contexts
• American Heart Association BLS required; new hires have up to 3 months to obtain if not current
• Clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care, 3 years preferred
• Phone triage, ER triage, or MD office triage experience is a strong plus
• Comfortable with Windows-based clinical systems and basic PC skills
• Strong time management, communication, teamwork, professionalism, and reliable attendance

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN)
• LPN considered in some contexts

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and nursing assessment expertise
• Clinical documentation and proficiency with the nursing process
• Specimen collection and safe medication administration
• Phone triage and delivering clear patient instructions
• Time management and prioritization under pressure
• Teamwork and collaborative care delivery
• Familiarity with Windows OS and basic clinical software
• Patient-centered communication and a customer-focused attitude
